The development version of Android




Android
is a Linux-based operating system specifically used for mobile phones, developed by Google and other companies are incorporated into the Open Handset Alliance (Intel, Nvidia, and Texas Instruments) since 2007. Because Linux is based, this system is open, and free. Since 2009, until recently, Google has released Android version 6, in which to facilitate the recall, each version given by the names of foods, such as: Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, and Gingerbread.

In summary explanation of each of the Android version is as follows:

Version 1.1

Released on 9 February 2009, the difference with the previous version is a better user interface and fixes several standard applications, such as messaging and alarm management.


Version 1.5, Cupcake


In this version stands out is the animation effects, a video recording function as well as upload to YouTube site facilities.


Version 1.6, Donut

Released on 15 September 2009, with the additional facilities the network connection to the CDMA and EVDO and WiFi support.


Version 2.0/2.1, Éclair


The release of version 2.0 to 2.1 only a month later, that in December 2009 and January 2010. Additional features in this version is the support for Microsoft Exchange, a touch screen mode, and a wallpaper that looks alive.


Version 2.2, Froyo


Released on
May 20, 2010, in this version looks much faster hardware performance, allowing access to external memory, which allows the WiFi feature built into hotspots, and the function of automatic updates to the Android Market.



Version 3.0, Gingerbread


This
new version planned released in October 2010. In this version there are several additional applications, such as: increased copy paste functionality, greater resolution, the online music store on the Android Market.

With the emergence of Android at this time, the smart phone currently available in the market is divided into 4 major groups, that:

1. Blackberry, with the Blackberry operating system.
2. iPhone, with the Mac OS operating system.
3. Nokia, with the Symbian operating system.
4. Android based phones.
